Purpose of the Job
Retail Associates are the face of our Downton Columbia retail store. They welcome guests, share the story behind our spirits, guide tastings, and help every visitor find the right bottle, gift, or keepsake. This part-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys people, is curious about whiskey, and takes pride in delivering a great guest experience.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Sales
- Greet every guest and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere
- Ask questions to understand guest needs and recommend products that fit
- Pour and guide product tastings following responsible service practices
- Process sales, handle cash accurately, and check IDs for all alcohol purchases
Store Upkeep
- Restock shelves, maintain displays, and keep the store clean and organized
- Assist with receiving shipments and inventory counts
- Follow opening and closing procedures
Team & Learning
- Stay current on new releases, trends in the spirits industry, and store events
- Support teammates and pitch in wherever needed on the floor
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- 1+ year of retail, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred
- Friendly, confident communicator who enjoys helping people
- Curious and eager to learn about spirits; no expert knowledge required
- Comfortable with POS systems and cash handling
- Able to support multiple guests at once in a busy environment
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Alcohol server permit, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
- Availability to work retail hours, including weekends and holidays, and reliably attend as scheduled
